'12 or '13 - Have to decide

My wife stumbled upon a '12 glk350 and is now convinced she needs it. She says she can "see in it"... loves the 365 visibility...

So it's crunch time and I have to make a decision on a '12 or '13. I thought the '13 would be a slam dunk but I drove a '14 and didn't like it as much as I hoped I would. With the larger engine and new steering, I figured it was a no brainer. So now I'm caught up deciding upon the savings of a '12 but with "subdued" interior design vs. higher priced '13 that didn't wow me but liked the appearance update... and assuming I could get used to that wacky shifter on the column.

Are there known issues with either year that could sway me one way or another? Any fact based info beyond personal preference?

Thanks everyone!

Both are great cars, but personally I would go for the 2013 since it has the updated interior, tail lights, and front end.

Either way a GLK is a great car

Yeah, I got the 2013 for the better engine/horsepower, and the headlight design is nicer. The shifter is awesome.. I love having space on the console and it only takes a few days to get used to. Nicer looking exhaust trim, too. Get the 2013.

It really comes down to which desing you or your wife likes.

I like older design better, but that's personal. '13 has a bit nicer interior but I don't like the round vents and column shifter.

The "older" engine and tranny are bullet proof and '12 probably costs less. But then if you are going for '12.
