used 2013 GLK question
I'm looking for a used GLK and found one that has 40k miles but otherwise, lots of features for the price. I have a 14' GL 550 (that I love), this would be a second family car. GLK is new to us.
According to Carfax, the last services it had was: 30k - at MB dealership, 40k- at Ford dealership that is selling it: rotors resurfaced, fluids checked, oil & filter changed.
Valve cover gasket was replaced 7/14. Everything else is normal service.
I would probably buy an MB extended warranty. Even at that cost, it's still a few thousand $ less than available 2013 CPOs with less features, but also less miles. It will be driven less than the 15/yr avg so I'm not too worried about excessive miles.
Will I need to do the 40k MB service for the warranty? If so, what is the cost of that service?
Anything else I should consider?
Thanks for your help.

I don't think you can buy an official MB warranty since it's not being sold at an MB dealer.
I haven't read about any M276 engines needing valve cover gaskets - I wonder what's up there.

Thanks. I assumed I could because the original warranty is still b in effect but I'll double check.

Also, as you probably know, you can take the VIN to any MB dealer to get a real service report. That might shed some light on what services and repairs have been done.

Thanks. I didn't know, I'll check that out.
I could be wrong, definitely double-check. Some early M276 engines had noise on start-up, but MB covered all repairs. They were fairly in-depth IIRC.
