Confused about engine oil.
I'm about to change the oil in my GLK 250 BT (2014) the second time. However, 5W-40 Mobil 1 does not exist I guess anymore. Which oil should I use now ?
I have asked 2 Mercedes dealers and they have given me different answers. I live in California if that makes any difference. Please give me your thoughts. Thank you. :-)

Thank you David 1201 and Alex Bel.
Alex I'm in a hot climate, so I am resisting the idea of 0W-30 ESP. Am I wrong, please ?
Thank you.

Mercedes updated the spec for the diesel oil to 229.52. Use this:

Mercedes publishes a list of acceptable oils on one of their web sites:
http://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/bevoli...nt_action=show
Any oil on this 229.51 list should be good. The gasser uses 229.5 oils.
If an oil isn't on the list I would forget it. They're not likely to pay for damage no matter their marketing hooey.
