Can't really speak but for myself being that I've never owned a GLK. I'm getting a GLC soon. If you look at stuff like JD power and Consumer reports, you will see that it's a reliable model. Consumer designates it as a "good bet". Same with the E class.

2016 Golf R, 2014 GLK
75,000 km / roughly 47k miles.
We've had a parking sensor replaced.
6.9 l / 100 km over the lifetime of the vehicle and getting better as my wife has gotten more used to how to drive it to get good economy.
So far this vehicle has cost us about $1,500 in maintenance, maximum... including AdBlue.

2014 GLK 250
2014 GLK250 with 51,000 miles and climbing.
Had the well documented Adblue issue at approximately 8,000 miles, and had the passenger window motor fail on me. All quickly fixed via dealer under warranty.
No other issues besides regular maintenance.

My 2010 GLK 350 4 Matic was picked up with a little over 50K on it. He didn't say it but I suspect the former owner was concerned about failures after the warranty expired. It has been zero trouble - even less than my wife's Lexus. It now has 105K on it.
