Temp meter going up and down

I just noticed today that my temp meter goes up and down quite a lot while driving. No special weather or hard driving and I can say its not normal.

Anyone who have seens this and have some experience?

Depending on the temperatures it could be a few different things. It could be as simple as the thermostat stuck open or as bad as a cracked head. Have it checked.

I noticed the same thing on a trip a while back. Seems to be the thermostat just cycling. I'd say mine was going up and down by around 10 degrees. That was 6 months ago and the car has been fine.

We are talking about +-10 degrees, so a 20 degrees variation. Its a 2012 and regarding coolant I dont know, service was in January and I am not sure exactly what was included this time.

Weather here is stabile 20 degrees C.

Next trip needle was stabile again...
