COMAND screen blank on GLK250 2013

Turned on the car this afternoon and the COMAND screen is blank. No radio, nav, back up camera, hands free. Nothing turns on. Tried pulling some of the related fuses and re-inserting but still nothing.

Any suggestions?

Do you by chance have any warning lights on, like the one for battery?

Did the radio work just not the screen? If so, you need to reboot the system. You have to turn off everything remove the key and get out of the car and close the door. Go away for 15 minutes so the system totally powers down. Then come back and try again. Sometimes the screen does not boot up correctly. Don't be tempted to try early. The system does a warm boot when you open the door if it has not totally powered down. The system can store about 10 minutes of power internally even if the battery is disconnected so you need to wait for a period of time to insure it has lost all residual power. Mine will do this once or twice a year.

My 2010 has done this when I have a SD card plugged in that it sometimes disagrees with. I suspect the newer GLK doesn't have an SD card in the dash the same way but try unplugging anything you have plugged in as another music source - USB, iPhone, MP3, etc and see if that helps. In my case the Comand screen is blank and the radio plays but no screen and no changing of source or station. It's an occasional pain. I unplug everything, turn off the car and then turn it back on - no waiting. I can plug everything back in then.

As a Jaguar owner I was once was working for showed me his incinerated interior of his XKE. His comment was that Lucas Electric had a 3rd headlight setting after OFF & ON, Flicker!

GLK 250
Hello all,
Today I experienced the same thing out of nowhere (2014 GLK 250). The screen went blank with only the time displayed on the top left corner. Couldn't really find a solution other than a possible issue with the fuses. What worked for me however was holding the on/off button (the round volume button) for about 10 seconds. It first started the radio and then the screen came off completely. I had not washed the car and no extra moisture anywhere I could think of. Before trying this, I tried turning off the car with an hour of leaving idle, started the car but with no luck. Hope this helps someone with the same issue.

Typically when the COMAND system is off, the screen will be dark with only the current time shown.

Maybe you (or someone else) pressed the power button last time you were in the car? Or your battery is getting really low?
