I would have to agree with the other posters. It would seem that unless you are replacing the stock intake with a more streamlined cold air system that also benefits from the forced air from the front of the vehicle this would provide little benefit as it is now taking in the fresh exterior air after it has been mixed with the high temp engine bay air. Also the improvised forced induction of the factory intake is negated by the disconnect between the two systems. ie higher speeds force more air into the front intake section pushing air through the factory intake, but now that forced air dissipates into the engine bay and the intake is reliant only on sucking in air.
