Buying a 2010 GLK 350 - what should I know?
i have an opportunity to buy my neighbors GLK350 at the trade-in value he's being quoted by the dealer. It's a very clean car with 60K miles on it.
It's a very base model missing even sunroof. It only has Bluetooth, heated seats and parking sensors. That's it.
Curious us to know the following:
- any showstopper reliability issues with this model?
- any issues with 2010 first gen model?
- what can be upgraded easily? I'm specifically interested in some technology addition and sprucing up the interior
- how's the engine compare to the newer higher Hp model?
- anything else I should know? Worry about?
thanks
- any reliability issues

-4matic has transfer case issue and is very costly, hopefully this is RWD
-No power lift gate so no worries there
-Washer fluid tanks leaks, so have them fill it up and see if it leaks.
-Brakes are known to have squeaking issues so check that out and have them replace it if it does
-Intake tube will rip so check that out, they are $75 each
-Dial on the center consol will go out and cost over $250, make sure it works
Other then that just look for the normal stuff and get the pre-purchase inspection.
They make an aftermarket Nav/Bluetooth/Android based head unit so you can always install that, in some aspect it is more user friendly. seen them for around $1k
You can also add in the aftermarket HID/LED low beam for better advisability, this is usually under $100.
I recently also purchase a 2010 GLK350 RWD with 64k. Premium Pkg1, Media, Command HD based with HK sound. My dad bought a GLK in 2010 when it was new so I have been around the GLK platform since new. How much is the dealer asking?

I have a '10 GLK350 4Matic and, knock on wood, it has had no problems, well the gate lifter is starting to clunk at the top. It's fun to drive and reliable with 107K on it now.
The big thing is the features included. Adding things can be laborious and expensive.
