My 2011 1/5 GLK 350 suddenly has a shattered but holding together back left tail lamp cover. It's a LED version. How long does MB offer parts for replacement normally, especially considering it's a discontinued model?

There probably is no MB standard time since the production numbers for different models vary so greatly. There is also a myth that manufacturers have to provide parts for 7, 10, or 20 years depending on who you listen to. But I did find a reference to the Magnusen-Moss Warranty Act that implies a manufacturer must provide parts for the term that they warrant the car. So you could make the case that MB would have a 7 year obligation under the warranty since CPO's can get bumper-bumper coverage for 7 years.
I purchased a taillight for a Sentra from eBay and was happy with it. This is what found for a 2011 GLK.

There will plenty of parts both new and used for years to come. Many of the "new" parts for some older cars are re-manufactured when sourced from the automakers.
If your doing the work yourself e-bay is a good source of oem parts. I've purchased parts at a good discount from dealers looking to move out older inventory instead of from my local guy who wanted full retail.
