AMG brakes on a glk?
#26
Yes, all calipers (from an E55) fitted w/o any issues, rotors are the ones I posted pics above - brake lines/hoses must be replaced, the original ones from the GLK do not fit the AMG/Brembo calipers, so thats the toughest work and, GLK's front dust shields must be removed or cut, rears can be kept w/o any cutting;

Hello, thanks for asking - I used front rotors from any C63 or E63 variants and their offset did require some spacers to center the calipers on those rotors but, fitting huge front calipers w/ wheels to my 2012 GLK was never any issue - last set of rims I had were from a CL550 w/ plenty offset 43 mm clearance so no brainer... unfortunately I do not remember the spacer' thickness, sorry for that.... also important that the front hoses needed to be from the caliper as the GLKs have different fitting from the Brembos....

Hello,
Sorry haven't updated my end for a while, been busy with stuff. I finally got my calipers back from powder coating and they look decent for me.
But if you have a 4matic variant, the AMG front brake caliper will not connect to the line. You have to utilize a Brembo Racing GT caliper with a banjo bolt set up.
I ended up going with cheaper Brembo pads that are advertised to abate dust better. Everything fits in my build so for except the front brake lines & dust shields as Djorge pointed out. I am still waiting on my hubs to get coated and some titanium bleeder valves from England.
Clearance on my 20" wheels is tight with on 0.1mm (.004") of space. My 19" still fit with lots of room.

You will need longer rear brake hoses as well.
And since you have 4matic, understand that your front axle will prevent you from installing the sedan calipers unless you use a banjo bolt and adapter to run the line vertical. If you bought a ML or G caliper it wont collide.

Hello george I’m doing this instal as we speak and the rear caliper doesn’t line up with the e55 rotors , the only way it would work is if I shave the caliper to line up. Not unless I got the wrong rotor , and the e class rotor I For is the same size as the glk factory rotor. Please help any info appreciated. If yoh can link me the exact rear rotors u used that would be great

Which rear rear rotors did you use ? I may have the wrong ones

U are so right ! I contacted he seller and he stated this rear caliper is from an s / cl55 and not an e55 caliper. But the fronts work well.

e55 calipers front and rear, make sure of this .. and do not get the s55etc make sure it from the e55.
ebay has the steel brake lines for sale. I say buy 2 sets since the front you will need longer lines. I just bolted the one set together front and rear lines they screw in nicely and for the rear u may need new rear brake lines if you are 2012 and older. 2013 glk rear lines bolt right up no problem.

Bringing this thread back from the dead - some good info here!
I was thinking of doing a lighter caliper upgrade. I happen to have a set of 330mm 4-piston calipers - I think off an old S-Class or something. The mounting ears line up with the mounts on the hub assemblies on our 2014 GLK250, and of course the stock rotors are 330mm. Need some spacers to get the proper caliper offset, and also spacers around the caliper mounting bolts so they fit properly. Need wheel spacers too, but seems to be relatively bolt-on.
Anyone ever done something similar? Cost (for me) would be a lot less than an E/CLS55 8/4 piston caliper set up.

S211 E500 brembo 4 pot caliper. It has M12 bolt thread originally so u need to re thread it to accept GLK М14х1.5 mounting bolt and some 2-3 washers to center it on the rotor. also u need 65mm extended wheel mounting bolts and some 8-10mm spacers ( depends on your wheels offset) kinda cheap and bolt on. oem brake lines are ok.

Sir, which brake lines you used for your front setup ?

I have a 2011 do I get the front and rear brake lines for the glk? Or for the E55?
[QUOTE=Rnagal;7933538]update. No need for banjo fittings etc. for the fronts just as posted

Replying to this same old thread Those of you running the 8pot E55 front Brembos as I am. Happen to know which bleeder screw thread/pitch/depth is needed? I need to change mine, but don't want to fandangle them out and get stuck unable to immediately get a replacement.

Amg brakes on glk 350 e55 set up
I’d just call the dealer they should have those in stock no problem. Probably gonna cost 💲 anywhere from $20-$40 bucks that’s my guess.

Anyone know the brake line lengths or best point of contact to get them made? It doesn't look like they need much length but definitely need a banjo fitting to work correctly. I've got a set of calipers powder coated and ready for my wife's car.

Here is one and only custom designed and professionally manufactured vset to install AMG 6 pot calipers on GLK. Stamped , laser cut and powder coated oversized dust shields, custom made ( goodridge components ) braided brake
lines and machined \ anodized brackets with all new hardware. Bolt on and fits like it was there from factory, no rednecking and fooling with washers, etc.
I used 3mm spacer to make my oem AMG style rims clear this setup.
Thats how it looks like all assembled together.
Rear set is pretty much bolt on , just need calipers , rotors , pads , lil pad wear sensor cable swap.
