That bracket kit can be build on order and youll need to find calipers at some local junkyard, they are relatively cheap, like 400-600 front and 200-300 rears, pads are like 100 all around.

Finally finished my brake project after staging everything for a few months and gather all the parts. Hopefully will not have to wash my wheels as often.

I've done about 200 kilometers on them so far and love it! There is virtually no brake dust.

It took quite a long time to get everything staged and installed, but it was a fun project.

Definitely a unique upgrade. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the only GLK with carbon ceramics in the world
Are those the original carbon ceramic rotors as well?

Every part is new and almost all of it is from Mercedes. I used Goodridge for my brake lines. I basically rebuilt my entire front end suspension and wheel bearing before I started the brakes.

So after week with the carbon ceramics I am pretty pleased. My particular setup gives me great pedal feel while not being too agressive or senstive. I did not change or modify the brake booster.

My wheels were pretty dusty because of the brake pad bed in procedure. I removed the wheels and did a brake inspection and found no leaks or loose hardware. I do intend to purchase an 18mm torque adapter tool to make fastening the rear calipers much easer.

Below are the torque specs I used (taken from the E63 and CLS63 chassis); applicable to most retrofit AMG calipers whether cast iron or carbon ceramics.

Brake caliper bracket to steering knuckle:
M14 x 1.5 - 45mm flange bolt
21mm Hex
019-990-79-01 (upgraded from 000000-005639)
180Nm ~ 133 ft-lbs (two bolts per bracket, replace upon removal)

Front brake caliper to bracket:
M12 x 1.5 - 72mm cap screw with self contained washer
10mm Hex Socket
003-990-79-05
115Nm ~ 85 ft-lbs (two screws per caliper, replace upon removal)

Brake caliper to rear spindle:
M12 x 1.5 - 35mm flange bolt
18mm Hex
018-990-00-01
135Nm ~ 100 ft-lbs (two bolts per caliper)

Sensor bolt to caliper:
M6 x 1 - 20mm flange bolt
External Torx 10
910143-006002
8Nm ~ 6 ft-lbs (only on passenger side calipers)

Disc screw to wheel hub:
M8 x 1 - 12mm screw
Torx 30
220-421-01-71
10Nm ~ 7 ft-lbs

I'm a bit confused (which is not surprising - retired 4 years ago). I did peruse the thread looking for a clue for the inspiration to upgrade. The only thing I find mentioned is "dirty wheels".

I've done the front brakes on our 2014 ... I always replace the rotors (never resurface them) when doing a brake replacement, and buy high end pads (I'll have to look back what pads I ordered) that are notorious for no dust. Our GLK wheels have NEVER had brake dust on them.

Why spend so much time and money to add AMG brakes?

Absolutely hilarious (to me, anyway). As soon as I read your Reply, I said, "yep, that's what we use".
That made it easy for me to search my past emails

And yes, absolutely zero brake dust.

I've used the Akebono EUR1406 as well. But I think the power stop Z23-1406 has a better formulation. They emit lower dust like the Akebono but still have great initial bite.

Most people do the caliper conversions for the look or braking feel. Simple as that. You probably shouldn't waste too much time reading into this thread if you are happy with your stock brakes. Yes it' an expensive upgrade that adds no monetary value to your car.
