We once had Audi, VW, BMW and MB. Audi and VW left, leaving only BMW and MB. If MB leaves, that's a dire prospect. I'm not buying a Chevy diesel.

Hi !
My GLK 250 CDI Bluefficiency from 2010 with the OM 651 engine has 189 g of CO2 / km. I measured it in January this year at the government emission test. I don't know if it's a trick , they reved the engine to 5000 rpm for a long, long time and there was no smoke or anything. Seems legit to me. Compared to my father's VW Passat that leaves a trail of smoke every time it accelerates hard, my GLK is a good girl.
I do hope this is fake news.
Anyway, I am not giving away my GLK for a underpowered and soul-less junk mobile with less emissions.

I assume any "fix" is going to either kill the gas mileage or performance. Did any one else get a letter from the dealer asking you to 'trade' in your GLK250 for a GLC?
If I recall, smart VW guys were buying up all diesel VWs for cheap to get guaranteed cash from VW.. something to keep in mind if Mercedes are going the buy-out route

You're already finding them guilty! All of that has to be proven to the satisfaction of the auditors. I question they'll find anything like the VW thing. I'd be extremely surprised if they did. No concerns here!

So yeah, my guess is, they are guilty. I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

There were and are no accusations. It's an audit only, given rise by the VW issues. Audits are nothing more than reviews of data. Besides, this is Germany, not the litigious society of the USofA that we have become. They likely couldn't even sue a governmental entity over there as we can here.

Looks like MB is voluntarily recalling 3 million diesel cars in Europe for an emissions related fix....is this just the beginning??

This is a "voluntary" recall. Remember that diesel emission standards have been way less in Europe than in the US where, except for California's higher and highest, have been more than Europe. M-B quit importing diesels autos for a long period of time while developing the BlueTec technology to satisfy California. Their diesels in Europe are much different than our imports. I still doubt there will be any impact except in sales to concerned individuals. I'm sure M-B is waiting for the dust to settle before they start importing the GLC diesels here. I'm not concerned.
