2014 GLK250

Mobil 1 ESP 5w30

I just read a post on Amazon that Mobil 1 ESP 5w30 is no long recommended for my GLK250 can you help me verify this? If so what is the best current recommendation.

You want 229.52 spec oil for your bluetech diesel. You will probably find that the dealer's price on MB 229.52 is competitive with other brands and there is no guessing about compatibility.

Studies published at bobistheoilguy show that no brand is significantly better than another.

Here is MB's list of approved 229.52 oils:

These only come in 5w30 flavor, btw.

My owner's manual calls for 229.51 spec oil in the Bluetec, therefore the list is considerably longer:

This spec includes grades up to 5w40.
