2011 glk 350 fuel gauge problem
hi i bought this 2011 glk 350 about 2 years ago & have had allot of problems with it
a year ago the fuel gauge started acting up, just driving along and it goes to 0 now low fuel light nothing, took it into the dealer , it started working prior to taking it in, they said no problems with it, theres nothing for us to fix???
happened again, took back to the dealer , the said they checked it found a poor connection on a connector, cleaned it & its all fixed, nope went to 0 again, took it to the dealer, they checked it out said it needs a sam unit ( signal acquisition module ) replaced it, guess what back to 0 again in 2 months, now there newest answer is we know these cars do this if you don't fill the tank completely because they have saddle tanks & 2 sending units it won't fill them equally and the sam unit just turns off the fuel gauge, and it's a known glitch but mercedes hasn't addressed it yet!
what a pile of crap, what is the dealer smoking, being an ase tech myself for close to 35 years and yes i am current on modern vehicle too!
what does anyone else think?
i also have developed an engine lower end ticking or possibly piston slap, they say thats normal , we have seen many that are much louder????
what can i do my warranty is with the dealer ( extended warranty ) the nearest dealer besides the one i am going to is 2.5 hours drive away
