2011 GLK 350 Leaking Seal
My Mercedes dealership in Manhattan is telling me I have a L Seal, Rear Crankshaft - Replace//REAR MAIN SEAL IS LEAKING. According to them it is not a drip leak, but the technician noticed moisture. They want $2,600 for labor and $160 for parts to do this job.
They are also saying M CENTRIFUGE IS LEAKING with the same explanation that its not a drip leak, but they noticed moisture with the fix costing $350 in labor and $130 in parts.
Are they taking advantage of me here?

its better for them to cover their butts by atleast telling you about the items, but until they are actually leaking and not just seeping (like they are now), I wouldn't worry about it unless you just have $3000 burning a hole in your pocket.. take the car home and save your money for now

Do you check your oil level every now and then? Has there been any significant level reduction? Do you see oil on the ground? By now, if you are a regular driver you would have about 96000 miles. If you don't see oil or don't have a big reduction in level, just drive on. These seals usually get worse slowly, so there is not a big chance that you will lose a lot of oil all at once.
