350 GLK, C280
What is the clamping mechanism that holds them to the side bars. I've used Thule 450 crossroads with some aeroblades and loaded them up with plywood above the roof rating with no problems. The thing I liked was that the cross bar extends beyond the roof bars so you have a way to tie down the load from moving side to side especially as my panels are wider than the roof. I always remove them even though they make very little noise. Very quick to put on and take off.
Yes those look nice, just make sure they have good attachment and are lockable if you leave them on.

I bought similar cheapo roof crossbars from ebay (like these) and like bop11... the clamping mechanism is key. The particular cheapo cross bar I purchase which looks similar to the link you posted the clamps do not fit the full width of the glk rails. Now they may work as the ebay seller listed... but for my peace of mind that clamp was a no go. I ended up just purchasing those
that other members here have also purchased. The clamping mechanism fully clamps the glk rails... works great.
Side note about those ebay sellers... be careful as usual because when I purchased and was not happy with their clamp.. although they had a 14 day return policy my particular seller tried to prolong past 14 days with lame excuses on how it does fit... any how ebay stepped in and started the return and although the seller sells the product from US (City of Industry, LA)... their return facility is in China which means you pay more in shipping than the item costs for refund. sneaky!
