Lightbulb Spare tire bracket in 2014 GLK 350 4MATIC

So my wife and I acquired a 2104 GLK 350. Very Nice. However, I cannot figure out how the spare tire bracket installs under the inflatable spare. I install it with the arrow facing forward, but it doesn't seem to fit. Unless I need a bigger hammer...Can't seem to find a good description of the install order, just some grainy videos

Any help is appreciated.

BTW, the bracket number I have is 204 898 15 14.

Many thanks,

Hameline

do you have the 3 components for the storage area? there is the triangular bracket, a threaded stem, and the threaded cap.

Thanks for the help, but I found the problem after staring at it for awhile......... someone had jacked the rear up by the wheel well. (#18) Broke through the plastic and deformed the metal, making the bottom un-flat and way out of dimension..... so, looking for a couple of heavy Germans at a Bosch shop to deform the well back into shape. I'll buy the plastic cover (#19) and install it myself. Not worth cutting out the metal and welding in new one......... how un-Mercedes of me !

dude you need to edit your post because it has a death wall of text.

But that is quite unfortunate to hear! yeah that is not the proper jacking point.

They are lucky they didn't jack it up by the fuel tank!
Are you sure that that is not damage from a rear end collision? How is your tire wear looking? Hope it is tracking OK.
