Replacement battery for the Varta A 000 982 21 0 glk2508
Does anyone have any suggested brands / part numbers for the original Varta battery in the GLK250 ('13)? I suspect it might be a higher capacity than the GLK350 due to high compression. I'm surprised that I can't find a posting on the form about what battery brands and models people have used. I've gathered that it needs to be an AGM type, but I'm not getting any info. I stopped at the local Costco because they have Interstate, but they only list the GLK350, not the 250. Suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks,
Gordon

What is the Ah and CCA? On another post someone said 80Ah and 800 CCA, I have not checked those numbers. But just buy a comparable one at costco like you said that matches those specs. Looks like BCI Group 48 is the best fit?

Not sure about the States but Costco here in Canada do not carry AGM batteries. Mercedes requires AGM batteries due to the nature of the electrical system requiring higher load, faster charge cycle and etc.
The replacement battery for the 2013+ GLK is 94R / L4 / H7. Don’t buy an H6 since they don’t fit at all. CCA is 800, CA 920, reserve capacity 140.

Car certainly starts faster, even being a diesel.

Duracell AGM
Just replaced the original battery in my 2014 E250 bluetec with a Duracell AGM Group 49 Battery at Sams club. Installed out the door was about US$175.00 The original battery had a date code of 33 13. So just over 5 years The old one still charges but not 100%. About 75%.

Actually, the group 49 battery is physically larger than the original which was a group 48. So hopefully it would not affect longevity.

I tried Pep Boys for a replacement battery. Their website selected a Champion AGM at 760 CCA, ( group H6 ), for a replacement. Great price too.
Problen was it wouldn't fit. It was too small for the clamp to grip. ..... sigh. Still looking.

Thanks for the info, I'll give it a shot.
I looked through every manual and found nothing on the battery. Wrote to MB USA and asked
for size & type information, They told me to go see my dealer for a battery.

Dear fabbrisd1,
Your information was perfect. Pep Boys had one on hand and installed in 30 minutes.
No need to got to Hans und Frans at Mercedes and pay twice as much. Thanks again.
Now if only Hans und Frans could figure out how to reset the computer to prevent the
error message about my back up lights. I replaced the incandescent bulbs with brighter
LED types and of course the "brain" reads the lower current draw as a problem.

Thanks for the info. I noticed that there is an empty half in the clear plastic back-up light.
When I get the gumption to remove the light assemblies again I'll find out
if this socket is powered too and add a bulb.
