AlldataDIY manuals - 2014

We have a 2015 GLK250. While the vehicle is still under warranty for another 60k and 2 years, if we keep the vehicle I will likely start handling some of the basic maintenence.

I have used Alldatadiy manuals for my other cars and find them the best source for tech data. They have a 2014 MB GLK250BT, but not a 2015.

Has anyone used Alldata manuals for Mercedes vehicles? Also, what differences can I expect between the 14 & 15 250? I am inclined to beleve that most of the information will be fine even with the year difference.

thanks

OJ

I did use Alldata in the past, and liked it. I was disappointed with the Alldata for my 2014 GLK. It seems to lack a lot of the specifics for mechanical and the electrical schematics are horrible. They go no deeper than showing the buses as big fat arrows. There are no power distribution shown, for example, I know the cigar lighter in the console is not on any buss but the wiring for it is not shown. Forget color codes. This board is the best place for service and electrical information.

I purchased a copy of that Mercedes service WIS program on eBay. I'm assuming it's a pirated version of the software they use at the dealer. It runs under VMware as a virtual service computer. I was sceptical of it at first, but it was only like $20 or something. Its really the best thing ever. Just type in your VIN and it has everything you could ever think of for your to service your Benz.
If your interested I can send you a link to the buyer on eBay. I'm sure he's selling more copies of it.

Take a look and see if it tells you the actual connections in the overhead light system. Can you tell which lead is powered when the ignition switch is on and not through the computer bus? If so pleas post the specifics and the specifics for VMware
Thanks

Here is a link to the wiring diagram for the overhead control unit.Wiring Diagram
I still need some practice using the WIS system. There really is A LOT of info in there. I havent really figured out how to navigate it effectively.

Let me know if this isnt what you need and I'll look through it again.

Also, the VMware version this software requires is VMWare Workstation 14 Player. Its free to download and is all you need to run the Mercedes WIS software.

Moaltar, Thanks very much. I will look into the WIS system. That diagram, although not totally complete is much better than the AllData. At least I can figure which leads are powered and check with a meter if they are powered with the switch. It shows individual lights and components not just blocks.
Thanks again.

No problem. Let me know if you want me to look for something else. There's a ton of wiring diagrams in there. If you want, I can try to upload the WIS program files to my Dropbox and share it with you.

Here is a wiring diagram for the front SAM.Wiring Diagram
Just FYI. I just realized that the blue text in the wiring diagram (eg PR. 54.15-P-2502FAA) are links to wiring diagrams on those items. So while looking at this wiring diagram, if you need the wiring diagram for that item I can send it to you. Also, the Door wiring diagrams links me back to the SAM info. Is all the door wiring tied into the SAM?

Wait, maybe it doesn't work cause that link is from the eBay app.

The title to the item in eBay is "Mercedes Brnz service shop manual" and the seller is capital_auto
