Unhappy Sudden increase in faults/issues - should I be concerned?

Hello!

I am the proud owner of a 2013 GLK 250 which was relatively issue free up until the past 6 months. My first issue occurred when my Command system pretty much crapped itself - and resurrected 3 days later. I was essentially driving around in a vehicle with the technology of a 1998 Dodge Neon - except the Neon had a working radio. Took it to MB and no reason could be ascertained as no fault was logged. A few months later I started my car one Monday morning and the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree. Check engine, High Beam Assist and faulty Blind Spot Assist haunted me until I could return to MB. Replaced corroded blind spot assist sensors and xenon bulb. All was good. (Check engine magically disappeared prior to me bringing it in and MB never mentioned anything). A few weeks later and my high beam assist is faulty again. Check engine appeared a few days ago. As well, I received a few false positives from my BSA today. This obviously has me extremely concerned as I only have 1 year left of warranty. Are all these events a sign I should ditch my beloved GLK?

If it is a early 2013, it was probably made in 2012. It has a 5-1/2 year old battery. Probably the problems you are seeing are from a battery going bad. Why was the sensor corroded? Has the car been in a flood or accident? If the battery is low, the command system may not boot correctly.

I live in Canada - we salt our roads heavily. MB wasn't surprised - they see the BSA corrodoed frequently

Agree with bop11, if the battery is running low and not keeping a charge properly you may be experiencing all sorts of electrical gremlins. May be time for a new one.

I've had the Blind Spot Assist corroded radar sensors and harness issue as well, replaced several months ago and no troubles since. A known issue.

I also have one more year of warranty, so anything electrical and powertrain wise is covered. Have the battery tested and if it fails the test, replace. Then drive more, worry less.

Make plans now to replace it or extend your warranty if it's the only peace of mind you have. The GLK250s are not cheap cars to repair once out of warranty. The DPF issues and wonky NOX sensors are enough to set you back thousands. YMMV.

When I picked up my vehicle a few weeks back, Mercedes stated the cause for my adaptive highbeam problem was the voltage control unit which they replaced. I inquired about my battery which they said was fine. As well, they stated that interference can happen with the BSA and they were unable to reproduce my problem. My DPF was also replaced under warranty

Since then my adaptive highbeam assist is once again inoperative, my BSA "interference" is becoming quite frequent, and my park distance controls just shut off one morning at the intersection beside my home. My vehicle has become a rave on wheels between the flashing lights and incessant beeps.

Will reaching out to corporate at this point result in a final resolution?

Get both batteries tested , check connections for corrosion, most auto stores test them for free, what you have in there is the best AGM battery made. But you have 5 years on it. It could also be a simple bad ground somewhere or loose connection

Record the warnings and things with your phone. Show them the video.
I did that with a howl I had on my brakes since I knew it wouldn’t happen when I dropped it off.
