2011 GLK 350 57k - worth the risk?
Hi all,
Was about to pick up a 2011 GLK 350 with 57k miles but last second research led me to discover the 722.9 transmission issues specifically with the transfer case. I'm not able to get any service history details on the vehicle. Is it really as prevalent of an issue as it appears to be online? Seeing the threads and class action suit etc.
I'm seeing the typical repair cost is 4k+ and requires full swap.
Thanks.

You may also check into aftermarket warranties if you're that concerned. But again, mine has been bulletproof for the past 6 years and 50k miles that I've had it.

Same here 2010 with 85k. Don't quote me, but I recall that tranny failure happening at earlier mileage. I'm also not sure how spread this issue really is. At 57k miles I'd imagine it's in the clear. I would test drive and ensure there are no noises from tranny. I'd also check for transfer case leaks (some sweating seems ok).
