CEL Scare on 2013 glk 250
Well, I jumped in with both feet and bought a beautiful Diamond Silver Metallic GLK 250 about 3 weeks ago. I had researched the issues and felt that whatever could go wrong with this one most likely already had, since it has 47k miles. Bought it in Atlanta, drove it back to Panama City, Fl with no issues and getting 40.1 mpg! Love it! Then, yesterday, my wife called me on the way to work to inform me that the dreaded CEL was on...I went by and picked up a code scan tool on the way home and was prepared for a DEF code of some sort. Much to my surprise I got P221, pedal throttle position. Just so happens the night before I had installed a set of pedal covers! I reset the CEL and so far, no light !!!! Wow, scared me! The scan tool was worth the price @ $35 for my peace of mind. Loving this little GLK.

Congrats on the new ride. We bought ours last year with 48K miles.
The emissions control system and devices on the BlueTecs are the weak link. I would invest in a worthy scan tool that's MB specific and keep all fingers crossed as you journey on.
Did you get a service history or CarFax report? I'd want to see if NOx sensors were replaced on 2013s. There was talk of a bad rash of sensors before MB switched suppliers or a new revision came along.
Also keep an eye on the brakes, as the GLK loves to warp its rotors.

I currrently have the BlueDriver made by Lemur, costs $99 and is an excellent smart tool.
