Sliding wood center cover
Hello all,
New to the forum, but was hoping someone might be able to help me. I’ve scoured the internet but have not been able to find a good tutorial on how to remove the sliding wood door over the center console.
I’ve seen posts on how to get things that have slid behind the console, but my situation is a little different. I had a charging cable for my phone in the console. Somehow, the usb portion of the cable is now behind the back wall of the console and under the sliding door. I’m now sure how it fit between the door and the back edge, but it’s there, and I haven’t the slightest idea how to get it out.
I’ve tried to remove the trim, unscrew everything, removed temp dials and ashtray, but still no luck.
Any chance someone out there might know how to get back there? Any help would be appreciated.

As far as free resources, you can look up GLK dash removal youtube video. That and the official workshop manual are somewhat helpful, you kinda just remove the plastic components you see to reveal screws, undo connectors, etc

There's a youtube video called "W204 Center Console Trim and Ashtray Cover Removal" that I found extremely helpful when I had a keychain stuck behind my ashtray door. Good luck!
