Keep the community posted on this. I have to take ours apart to repair the rear window washer. Any chance that is what you are doing?

For the light: you can pry on the edge and it can pop off. being too aggressive can break the housing.
For the cover: the two grab handles hide screws. you pry on the grab handle to remove the cover and unveil the screws. Then pry along the perimeter of the bottom cover. the pillar cover can then be removed.
