Please help with correct rims size for winter tires

Hello everyone just picked up a 2012 GLK this is my first post.
I have a 2012 GLK 350 4matic (Canadian) original wheels are 20" profile 45 235mm, I would like to put on 225-60-18 bolt size 5 x 112 can this be done?

If you reduce the overall diameter from a 20" to an 18" wheel, you'll need the proper size tire to keep the total circumference (which affects your speedo) within original measurements. That means for an 18" wheel you'd need a 55 series tire. A 60 series tire may be too tall.

I'd stick to a 235/55R18 setup. Bolt size of 5x112 is the norm on most (if not all) Mercs.
