After getting rid of my 1978 Ford F-150, I needed to get my bikes somewhere and well the wife really likes the GLK350 so we just purchased a 2010. Now it's time to start modifying!
Ever put a motorcycle trailer hitch carrier on a GLK? - Well were about to find out. After searching and searching all I could find was bicycle carriers and simple trailer hitch options. So instead, I purchased a trailer hitch and full blown motorcycle carrier for my 2019 KTM 250SX.
So the motorcycle carrier arrived yesterday and I decided to put it together in the wonderful Nevada 105+ heat. A few modifications but went together easily and is super strong, my concern is its fairly heavy.. so we will see how the GLK likes the weight. Not to mention it seems the tongue to trailer hitch seems fairly short so concerned that the bars might get close to the rear window. Time will tell.
If anyone else has done this, post some pictures and your experience! I'd love to see what you guys have done.

Trailer hitch is on! A few minor adjustments and it took quite some time to work around the exhaust and fuel tank but torqued to 75lbs and ready to go, doesn't look half bad.. Now just a cap for it and we are all set
Fits quite snug and works very well. Sticks plenty far out from the bumper, just interesting to see what its like with full weight of a motorcycle on it.
FINALLY! Well its on and works great, the little ramp that attaches is very convenient to get the bike on and off. Best part, you can walk it straight on one side, when its time to come off, flip the ramp and walk it straight off.
Does have some sag due to my guess the 35lb or so hitch, 45lb or so carrier + my 211lb pound KTM.. true test is long distance trip and some off road trails to get to our favorite riding spots.
4 tie down straps to hold her in place. 2 for the bars and 2 for the frame make it super rigid and hold up to almost any bumps coming.
A good distance from the rear window but had it a little tighter towards the back of the vehicle just in case.. Seemed fine for the around the block trip.
All in all I think the little GLK will do great with the bike on the back. I will add photos from our rides and give a full review once its been road tested.

so you have 200 (?) pounds sitting around 12" behind the receiver, on a 60 pound rack. Im not that good at maths, but the GLK tongue weight limit is 350 pounds. At 12" it is likely reduced by at least 30%, probably more. Not to mention the twisting force by the bike rocking. Might be safer to pull a very small aluminum single axle trailer.
