Looking at a 2010
Hello, all. I'm looking at buying a "winter beater", and one of the cars on my radar is a 2010 GLK 350 4Matic. There's a local one with around 170,000 miles, but it seems well sorted. It's a one-owner vehicle, and the CarFax shows a pretty good service history (19 service history records), mostly at one of the local MB dealers, which is also the dealer selling the vehicle. In fact, the CarFax indicates that the transmission was replaced in 2014 at around 87,xxx miles, which from what I've read on here is a problem with the older GLK's.
Of course - I plan on having a PPI done, but in advance of that is there anything else I should be looking out for when I go and look at / test drive the vehicle?
FWIW - I tend to do a lot of maintenance myself. My current daily is a 2011 Porsche Cayman, and I change the oil on that every 5,000 miles. I can also do brake pads and rotors, brake fluid flushes, and some suspension work. All of this is to say: (1) I know I'm not buying a Honda
; and (2) expensive German cars don't scare me per se.

I’d keep looking. Too many miles and 10 years of service already. Unless you’re looking for a car that’ll just get you through one winter...
Try to find 2013-2015 model with under 100k if possible. I’d save my pesos meanwhile. You don’t want someone else’s problem child.
