2013 GLK 250 Bluetec reliability report @ 160 000 km
Hey guys, here is the list of repairs that I encountered since I own the vehicle in 2016.
Bluetec –DPF SCR delete with EGR disable @110 000km with a stage 2 ECO tune $2500
Left side intake hose replaced @ 120 000 km $500
Blower motor fan replace @ 110 000 km around $300, the dealer want $600 for the OEM part, crazy! Got a BOSCH one from FCP euro for half price
Windshield washer pump replaced @ 160 000 km $60 for the parts, it was very easy to replace
Parking brake adjustment @ 160 000km $115 (Pretty much an hour labour for the shop to adjust, so now my vehicle won’t roll back when I apply parking brake)
Fuel injectors replaced @160 000km approximately $2,000 (Man, the fuel injectors are expansive for diesel, they are like $420 each x 4, and that a discounted price. Dealer retail price is like $475 :S Hopefully I don’t need another set until it hit 300 000 km
Front Differential seal leak @160 000km approximately 20 hours of labour and my mechanic is not recommend me change the seal since it not worth it. He helped me drained the front diff and got approximately 500ml out of it. It just a really slow leak and I am going to change the fluid every 30,000 km to ensure the front diff have enough oil.
Other than the above repairs that I listed, I do routine oil change, clean my K&N filter, clean my MAF sensor, Cabin filter change, flushed my transmission, flushed my brake system, flushed my front and rear differential, fuel filter replacement, front and rear rotors and brake change, wiper blade, and 2 news set of tires recently (All season and winter)
Overall, the GLK was not too crazy to maintain or to repair. The vehicle give great range and fuel mileage. I am still happy with the vehicle. I probably will keep for another 5 years for sure.
I did most of my repair @ ECU program located in Calgary. I highly recommend them over the dealer. They are very knowledgeable and knows exactly what they are doing. If you are in Calgary area and looking for a mechanic to work on your European vehicle, check them out.

Hopefully this post will help people to have an idea the cost to own a diesel GLK and the type of repairs to expect. Right now the price of the used GLK is amazing. Super good deals to get one. Let me know if you have any questions.
