2010 option packed 60k mi $11k dealership
vs
2013 AMG also option packed (inc audio) 110k $13k+
But dealer has not inspected or worked on. Part of their service to the public, selling for as low as possible.
Needless to say, the riskier and high likelihood it will need work.
There is another 2013 AMG that has all options but not the audio. Roughly same price w/o "AS IS" status. Dealership inspected.
, Its either a used GLK or RDX. Budget of 12-14k but willing to spend much less. Best bang 4 buck, buy to keep indefinitely. I drive an 04 TL and keeping it as long as I can. However, I have made modifications, perhaps made it less than great for driving my two little ones. I read great things about GLK safety. Is buying a high mileage or intent to go the distance a bad idea for this particular MB?
If you are set on buying a high mileage Mercedes then your safest bet is a minimally optioned rear wheel drive 2013+ GLK350 gas models. This will avoid the issues that come with mileage on the expensive to repair 4matic system and gets you the engine without balance shaft issues. Also avoid the GLK250 with problematic and expensive to repair diesel emissions systems.
When buying a modern high mileage used Mercedes you should strongly consider putting aside the purchase price to pay for the repairs and maintenance in the next few years.
Good luck.
'13 has DFI - more complicated, spark plug change is pita, carbon built up on the intake, additional high pressure fuel pump, eco mode etc. ...more things to go wrong and harder to work on
'10 is simpler, has old style port injection engine, easier to work on, most likely needs new intake manifold or will need it in a few years.
Do both have AWD? If you don't need AWD I would go for RWD version.
