So I haven't seen a thread on this....but wondering if anyone else has this issue and or has come up with a solution? So my particular vehicle is GLK 350 4-matic...fully loaded, however it doesn't have the "smoker's package" w/ the ash tray and lighter plug. So therefore there is no way to get a USB port going in the car to charge your phone etc...There is the Aux port in the glove box you can plug a solution into...but I plugged a bluetooth solution into that to get some sweet tunes into the Harmon Kardon's. Plus if you plugged in a USB solution in there you'd have to leave the glove box open to plug a device into it....which is less than ideal.
Anybody come up with anything for this scenario if you have the same sitch?

There's a 12V lighter outlet in the glove box and another in the cargo area. I just discovered that the weird adapter I found in my car works on my old style iPod.

You are correct, lighter outlet in GB and a standard outlet in the cargo. Doesn't solve the drive with your glove box open equation, but that appears to be the only options besides getting a new stereo that may have a USB port...or possibly can run something from the glove box and out somewhere so it could still be closed. Wow, too funny. Now I don't feel so bad for taking so long to figure out what the weird adaptor in my glove box was for.
Hahah...I figured that out quick simply cause I desperately had to find a tucked away bluetooth solution for audio. But this, i'm not sure where my brain was at. Have a solid day!
