Emergency Brakes...

Emergency Brakes...
Hello!
(2010 model)
I was trying to replace my brakes lately but the emergency brakes are stuck and it prevent me from removing the discs.
I was not able to see the dented rod to adjust the tension looking through any hole. Most other models have a special hole just for that but not the glk350.
Should I just force it (4lb hammer) because anyways I am replacing the discs and emergency brakes springs and pads?
later today I will look under the rear seats to but some lose nuts in the 'Y' section to see if it helps.
