Intake manifold cleaning?
Intake manifold cleaning?
Happy Saturday!
I had an ABS sensor bite the dust the other day, and while pulling the code, noticed one that hasn’t triggered a malfunction light. 0522. From what I’ve read, and the checking on my vehicle, the little rocker arm on my charge flaps has broken, so the actuator can no longer control them.
repairing that requires removing the manifold, and since I’ll be that far into the engine, figure I should clean the intake valves, and possibly the inside of the manifold.
Is there a safe cleaner that can be used on the internal, potentially plastic bits of the manifold that won’t do more harm than good, or will any sort of brake/parts cleaner be fine?

I know this is a bit late, but MAF (mass air flow) sensor cleaning spray is completely safe on all those plastic bits.
Seafoam intake cleaner is another great option.
CRC also makes an insane spray that is for intake valves on direct injection motors that don’t get the flow of fuel across them with the needed detergents that keep port injection intake valves clean(ish).
