A mechanic I know has replaced different computers and modules from junk yards and has had good luck without getting them reprogram for a lot of $. MB will say no, some people have not had it work. If the module is from the same model, odds are it should work.

Mercedes benz glk 350 2010 model
I replaced my front sam with a sam alternative number, but the window glass controls are not working and the headlamp controller it’s not working, what can I do to make them start working do I need the sam to be programmed because have checked if there is any blown fuse but all fuse are good,please I need your advice on this

You should look on youtube, there are directions on how to rebuild a SAM, it is not all that hard, buy a soldering gun, some solder, follow the directions in the video on how to take the SAM apart and install the new fuses and or to solder the breaks on the circuit board that is inside. If you fix your original, no need to reprogram a replacement. You are lucky the signal is being accepted to start your car with a different SAM installed. Hope you find your answers and fixes.
