Canada Bluetec settlement
Its finally happening. Only a 3K payout. Expected more. That's about 2.2K US Dollars. Always get the short end of the stick up here.

Ok so we're getting short=changed on the settlement but let's hope we get some equality with the US on the extended emissions warranty. If you intend to keep the car this could be more valuable in the long run than the $ settlement.
I assume that we'll see similar dealer confusion and ineptitude that some of our US members experienced. Probably better to wait a while and let the dust settle after receiving your notice before taking your car in. Not keen on having the dealer "learn" on my car.

That's why I always advised folks to keep their stock hardware and just bypass it with software if needed. You can always quickly revert to stock and have the car serviced by the MB shop without worry.
More importantly, I'm glad that Canucks finally have this option. It should have been all of North America all at once really. The process moves slowly but it will get folks some funds for their troubles at least.

My understanding is that current owners who complete the emissions repair will get $2925. Former owners will get $835 and there are additional payments for "special" cases. No idea what that means.

2925-10% or 2100-10%
-10% for the lawyers, and if second owner and the original owner claims, 835 less. Original owner has until mar 23, 2022 to claim. Makes me wonder if I should have held off on service until after that date...not sure if original owners can claim without service being done?

good news if you are the one who is going to do the field measure service.
- Purchased or leased an Eligible Vehicle after December 8, 2021 for which the Field Measure has not been installed.

field measure experience
There's no new device, it's replacing a bunch of sensors, giving you some cash, an 4 yr/ 77k extended warranty on emissions and replaced parts.
Haven't seen the cash yet though. I suspect if you are a second owner, it'll come after Mar 23rd. The deadline for original owners to collect.
Read the BlueTec Canada settlement for all the info. Pretty comprehensive info.

I just double-checked https://bluetecupdate.mercedes-benz.ca/en/home site with my VIN and they showed a list of replaced parts:

Canadian here. Got field measure installed a couple weeks back. Awaiting cheque. Any way to figure out the progress on cheque and if it’s on the way? Or will it just surprise me in the mail?

March 23rd is the deadline for original owners to apply for their 800$. If you are second owner, that will impact payout timeline I presume?
I'll be surprised when it comes...anticipation... lol
