GLK350 High Beam Removal
I am a solid DIY'er with a 2011 GLK350 base...130K miles & very well maintained. I recently added Xenon headlights and ballasts low beams, entered through the wheel well and easily done in about 2 hrs. My struggle is on replacing the less-addressed high beams, where I am throwing in LEDs. The manual / (also found online) shows this picture (if forum allows).
GLK350 high beam
Bulb Holder. My bulb is staying firmly in the housing when I follow instructions.
- Press the handle of bulb holder 2 in the direction of the arrow until bulb holder 2 is released.
- Take out the handle with bulb holder 2.
- Take the bulb out of bulb holder 2.
Easy to access this 'bulb holder' but when I push in the direction of the diagram the plug just comes off of the bulb pins, leaving the bulb still firmly mounted inside. I managed to get the plug back onto the high beam (ugh) and tried to to rotate more instead of push, but it won't budge (both sides). The big piece at 11:00 appears to be holding the actual bulb.
It's a sad day that I am asking for help on this one when it's in the manual. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you!

On second thought, yours is a little different than mine. My info says 2013 and up. PM me your VIN and I'll see if I can figure it out.
Meanwhile, I think what your illustration is indicating you want to press that tab toward the front of the car, which would **** (
insert 4 letter word for "rooster" here) the bulb holder in its retainer. That's similar to how my low beam comes out. I'm not sure how that would make the wire come off, though.
