2014 GLK250 with 60k miles. Low coolant warning on dash. Inspected and found dried coolant around the top of the thermostat housing (air relief valve maybe?). Does anyone know if the part where the leak appears to be coming from can be repaired, or do I need to replace the entire housing? It appears to be the piece with the circlip on the left side of the stock image. Thanks!
It looks to me like the powder blue deposits were sprayed onto the housing from somewhere else. Note the deposits on the side of the wiring harness opposite from the housing.

Thats a good point. Could be spraying off the belt. Guess I need to dig a little deeper.
I’ve had my light go on twice in 70000, yes look for a leak but fill it and see how long it takes to trip the light, does motor oil look at all milky ? Hopefully it’s not a real issue and Normal

I wiped off the spray and will inspect as I do some driving this week. I changed the oil yesterday and it was normal.
Update: The original (plastic) water pump was leaking from its front seal. Local shop replaced it with updated aluminum part (6512002100 Graf).
Strangely, after 30 miles of driving a P261F code came up. I cleared it once and it came back again. Took it back to the shop and they looked everything over. No coolant or vacuum leaks. They didn’t have any solution other than drive it a while and see if it goes away (citing possible air bubbles in the system). Other option suggested: take it to the dealer to possibly have the cpu flashed?!
They added that unlike some sprinter vans, this pump doesn’t have a vacuum assembly, so the technical service bulletin for this code didn’t really make sense. So not really sure how to proceed other than hoping it goes away.
