Are all GLK350 4Matic transmission interchangeable?

Long story short, our 2010 glk350 4matic transmission crapped out. Shops wanted ~6-10k for a rebuild. I found a shop that can swap a used transmission for fraction of price. From looking on eBay, there were specific for 2010, 2012-2013, and 2014-2015. I know that the facelift model looks different on exterior, but do the transmissions for 13-15 fit 10? The 2010 trans are hard to find and are mostly 100k+ miles, versus the 14-15 are significantly lower. Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure if all years are interchangeable but here is an excellent source for finding one assuming you are in the USA or Canada.

There seems to be a lot of them and some with lower mileage.

Are you saying local non mb transmission shops wanted 6-10 to rebuild it? Yes eBay has good prices , it’s a risk, but worth taking,

Tranny needs to be programmed to the ECU so check if indy has proper software to do that. Other than that, it should be straight forward. 2013+ might be different as engine changed, so I would stick to 2010-2012. Also need to make sure it's for 4matice vs 2wd depending on what you have.
Might be able to use tranny from C and E class as well.

What happened to the tranny? They are pretty bullet proof.

2012-2013

2010

Even the dealer has different part number. If the matter is just computer programming then it would be easier. Otherwise it would be $$$$ if we have to find out the hard way!

Yea there is early and later transmission in 2010. In 2010 they switched over to one that uses blue trans fluid (A89 option). Then in 2013 the new M276 engine came out and I think they want to next tranny version, but can be mistaken.

When my transfer case failed, I contemplated getting a used or rebuild tranny but wasn't sure how pairing it with my car might work so ended up rebuilding the transfer case.

You might want to look into rebuilding your transmission. When I was doing some digging, it's a fairly simple design and there are re-builders out there.
