2011 GLK350 4Matic
New (well new to me) GLK350 owner
Just purchased a 2011 GLK350 4MATIC with 35K miles. Wish me luck and I'll take any and all advise

Aside from the things like door seals, rubber hoses & belts that have been in service for almost 12 years, 35,000 miles is nothing. A complete B service routine would be a good idea, but DIY or at an independent shop. Has the GLK been stored for a long time? If so, things like oil & grease seals may need to be looked at carefully.

Thanks. I set up the appointment for the service. I have a 30 day return and 90 day 4000 mile warranty on it so I get right on it. Looking for a certified 3rd party service operation in my area now

Budget money for the engine mounts; they are notoriously difficult to do on 4matics.

Just saw you have a warranty. Knowing this, you need to REALLY look into if your motor mounts are good (or perfect, really). If there is any sort of vibration at idle or other symptoms common with failing motor mount (look for leaks), begin making a case and GET THEM REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. These cars are actually pretty easy to work on, but there are some things that are a total PITA.

Does time affect engine mounts? GLK is 12 years old but only 35k miles. Ours was at 155k when retired and still smooth as silk.

I'm very surprised your original motor mounts lasted 155k miles. Yes time can affect motor mounts. The engine is still being supported by them even if not in use.

It was only 6 years old at the time. That's why I asked. All the rest of our MBs needed engine mounts at 95k-100k.
