GLK-Class (X204) Produced 2008-2014

P2571 Error

2012 Mercedes-Benz GLK350
P2571 Error
I'm an owner of a new-to-me GLK350 4Matic, 2012, which I really love (my first Merc, though I've had other German and European makes in the past). It threw a P2571 code, and research on here has shown that could be a faulty PremAir sensor. My question is threefold:
  • What should I diagnose to see what the actual issue is?
  • Where can I get one of these sensors (are they called something else)?
  • What happens if it is the sensor and I do nothing? The only reason I ask is I live in a place with no emissions testing, so if it doesn't hurt the car at all I'd like to know if I can back-burner this repair if it is just a bad sensor.

You will have 3 choices soon

1) Take it to Mercedes or specialized shop
2) Delete emissions and tune the car
3) Enjoy your 10 start countdown until car get bricked and wont start.

Wait, 10 start what now?
I like option 2, but I would also like to diagnose the problem if it's a real issue. But gutting the emissions system does sound like a good time. What's generally used for tuning on these cars?

These cars are stupid in that if there is a problem with the emissions they eventually start a 10 start countdown then brick your car.

Dang; that's not welcome news. I thought that was just a DEF fluid thing on the diesels. How do I flash a non-emission tune or some other such? I'd hate to get stuck somewhere because of a compliancy issue when I don't even have emissions laws to comply with!

What you are being told about a 10 start countdown is incorrect. Does not apply to your version of the GLK.

It's only for the GLK250 bluetec, correct? I thought it was just a diesel thing.
