Headlight assembly replacement
I have a 2013 GLK350 4matic. Left side headlight assembly is hazing and discolored/cracking. Not sure why the left side only, but wondering how hard this is to replace? Anyone done this?
Seems like I can get an OEM replacement for like $400.

If front bumper cover has to come off, that is a pain. But doable, just take your time and make sure you get all the fasteners.
Replacement should be plug and play. Alternative is one of those 3M headlight sanding kits and about an hour of your time. Impressive results if done right.

I also have this issue and have used "Cerakote ceramic headlight restoration kit" from Walmart, of all places, to Great effect. It comes with all the tools, treatment supplies and instructions. Super easy and about an hour for both sides. It lasts 1 to 1.5 years and during that first year they looked absolutely brand new. I am about to do mine again. The price of the kit is now $13.47, so roughly 30 both side treatments for the cost of an OEM replacement + time. I used other products, 3M/Turtle wax/Mcguires with ok but brief results. I stumbled upon this and was Amazed at how well it worked but even more so how durable it is.

I screwed up and rushed the first time I did this, and it didn't work right. I called them and they overnighted me a replacement for free. For a $15 product that is awesome. Resanded and applied and it looks great now.

Will second the 3M headlight refinishing kit. The process is almost scary as you remove the damaged surface but this kit works great. I follow the kit with a treatment of the Meguiars clear plastic cleaner & the clear polish. Amazing as to how much it improved what I thought looked great. Meguiars also makes a UV protectant to apply to the finished lens. You might consider having 3M clear bra applied to the lamps afterward. I went the full treatment, lights. hood edge, mirrors, fender edges & grille surround shortly after we acquired ours. All looks great now albeit with a few stone chips in the material but not in the paint after almost 100K miles.
