2011 glk350 runs out of gas at 1/4 tank

Hi guys I am stumped. I changed both the fuel sending unit/filter and the other pump as well. Both new. After that I started having issues with the SUV running out of gas at 1/4 tank. I returned the fuel filter thinking that was it and put the other new one. It still does that. The lines are fine no kinks or nothing. I'm stumped. Could it be that the other new pump is acting up. It seems that it runs out of gas on the fuel filler side the pump module. However still has gas on the filter side. But replaced filters 2 times. This is a 2011 glk350 with 119k miles base model non pzev. I found out it has a check valve on the pump module by the filler side could that be the problem why there is no gas being sent or what is going on. Could someone please shed some light on this as I'm out of ideas.

Apparently, it has stumped others :/

So I have a question ... you state, "it runs out of gas at 1/4 tank".

Does the GLK engine die when you see 1/4 tank on the fuel gauge, and it still has plenty of fuel in the tank (about 1/4 tank) ?

Or, does it really run out of gas , but it erroneously shows 1/4 tank on the gauge?

Yes it turns off when the gauge shows 1/4 on the tank. At that point the fuel filler side has no gas and the driver's side is full of gas. I'm checking the connections to see if all the wires seem to have current. It feels like the fuel sending unit is not getting power or something. I don't know but I'll check for that.

The fuel sending unit and other pump I bought them at rock auto. They are both VDO/CONTINENTAL. they are the same part numbers and brand that FCP euro told me to buy. It's just at rock auto they were a bit cheaper on price.

Fixed

Apparently the old pump and fuel sending unit were connected wrong. The high pressure line was fine but the thicker line that comes from the fuel sending unit was connected to a piece of the pump in the cover. Effectively blocking the sending unit from doing its job. I was following the way it was originally how I saw it when I took it off. I have moved that lime to the proper place which is on the clip that sits right next to the high pressure line and the gas from 1/4 went to 1/2 tank right away. Now I just have to deal with the low fuel pressure check engine light which could simply just be the line could have a kink. I'll check for that tonight. However the running out of fuel at 1/4 tank is fixed. Thanks guys

I haven't taken the SUV to my friends shop. It still says low fuel pressure. I believe it just stayed and have to erase it. The truck drives fine. No surges or nothing.

Did you figure out what was problem with low fuel pressure? Did the erasure of the error help?

HI, yes it was fixed. I had replaced the fuel filter and the fuel pump. The fuel filter has 2 lines that go to the fuel pump. One line clicks to the pump and the other just gets put in place into like a prong to send fuel from the fuel filter side but is not connected to anything on mine. Also we erased the code and that was it. Although the GLK ran fine with the code I just didn't like the check engine light on all the time. Lol. But yes it was fixed.
