OBD Codes P205C, P2201 NOx SOLVED!!!

Hi all,

Just posted in case this helps some else down the road:

Wifes GLK250 2015 with 200K miles, showed the engine light and OBD scan showed P205C (Reductant Tank Temperature Sensor Circuit Low) and P2201 (NOx sensor bank 1 performance) codes.

Stealership wanted ~$3000 to change the whole DEF tank assembly and NOx sensor.

Didn't want to sink that much money into the car given the mileage so decided to go for DIY solution for $115 - EBAY Diesel Exhaust Fluid DEF Heater for Mercedes-Benz GLK250 W204 2013-2015 L4 2.1L.

Used instructions from
to get the DEF tank down, and xemodex for some tips on connectors and o-rings (important!!!). Whole thing took a couple hours and I did it without ramps/jacking the car up at all.

Changing the heater part cleared the P205C code right away, and the P2201 went away a few drive cycles later as the DEF system cleaned through.

Hope this helps
