GLK-Class (X204) Produced 2008-2014

Is this a bearing failure or an oil pan failure?

Have you been able to determine that the bearing is not seized? (I'm guessing if the zip ties didn't get trashed in the first 5 minutes it must not be.)

I fixed the headstock on a motorcycle with similar damage using brass shim stock and Loctite bearing retainer compound. Of course, it doesn't spin as fast as an axle.

The bearing itself is working fine. I have driven thousands of miles with no symptoms and no issues.
