I put in LEDs (also a 2011 GLK 350). Big improvement in light output, great, sharp pattern, and truly plug-and-play. You just have to get the right LED "bulbs" (I researched it and chose the ones I did, and it worked out very well).

Why would you want to convert from HID to LED? HID is far superior. Some new cars have LED headlights but this is not the same as converting a headlight made for HID to LED.
I just replaced my first HID bulb in 13 years.
In the description of your kit on the second line it says... (Simple wiring is involved with this kit, just 2 wire splices on each side.) That is not plug and play.

Yes I agree with you totally. It definitely is not plug and play. The kit did not come with any pictures or procedures. I call Headlight Experts and they yell at me, i ask for return process. they told their address is on the label. I check BBB they have many unsatisfied customers. My worst experience. I maybe stuck with them, Mastercard is making jump thru many hoops. I will do what they say and see what happens. What a mess.

Exactly, you just need DS1 replacement bulbs and not convert to LED. You have a fairly rare lightning package.
My original bulbs also lasted around 13 years. LED bulbs crap out after a few years.
For replacement bulbs I went with cheaper replacement and they take slightly longer to warm up compared to the originals.
Why are you so hung up on the clips? This is how the bulb/ballast are mounted on the GLK, it's not that complicated.
I have not seen this clip on any examples. Send me video of how it's removed. Or just send me part number of this exact same clip, not something that looks like it.
Look closely, similar but not the same clip. My clip has a plate, the clip is 2 pieces articulates at the plate. Thanks tho ...

HEADLIGHT Experts California will not accept return or refund money. They will yell and call customer names, make accusations to avoid honoring their product.
Beware they are a scam operation! And Citibank mastercard is the same. This is NOT plug and play as promoted, $100s is required to modify headlamp braided cable for installation. https://www.headlightexperts.com/car...sid=yINyzNFduU
I have this same kind of low beam headlight bulb, bi-xenon with clip and backing plate. I can't for the life of me figure out how to get that bulb out. I can get the clip to unclip from the top. That's easy. Then when I tip it down from the bottom hinge, there's no way to get the bulb out or even more it enough to squeeze connect to remove. When the clip is completely closed, there's no way to squeeze connector and take it off since the backplate has a hook at the bottom that holds and covers that connector in. The main image will show all this. There doesn't seem to be a way to take the clip off from the bottom as each end is bent and when you pull the clip down, it's impossible to remove from plastic holder. Doesn't anyone else have low beam bi-xenon bulbs that are held in this way and were you able to remove it with out having to take a wheel off or or a fender or anything else?
It's crazy because even if i did all that and had more room to access it, the design of the clip is such that i can't see how to get the bulb out without breaking the clip. And that back plate...seems to be connected in a way that you can't remove it without breaking it as well.
Ok, just so anyone with this type of low beam bulb knows..., you have to pull the plug/connector out from the bottom of the bulb/balast with the retainer clip still in position. You can't open the cliip and get at the connector with the clip open. If the thin back plate that's attached to the retaining clip has a hook at the bottom of it that holds the connector into the bulb/balast, then you can grab that hook and slightly bend it back so the hook isn't touching the connector. Pull the connector, take the clip off by pushing it in slightly (toward the bulb), then slide it slightly to the side (toward the engine, not the fender [for right headlight/passenger side - USA]), the clip will then open and fold downward with the hinge at the bottom of bulb, now you can pull the bulb out and replace. Rinse and repeat in reverse for replacement of new bulb.
