2015 GLK, NTG4.7 nav update method?
For the price of a tank of fuel I think it well worth the investment. Of course our fuel prices are the highest in North America so it may cost you more than a tank full LOL
You could use your cell phone with google maps and just download the required map prior to departing, You can then use the maps with no data/offline mode. Doesn't cost a cent.
I think I still have relatives living in Dartmouth, or last time I drove there I did, lost contact with them. Long drive now.
Oh I still have my Garmin GPS with lifetime map updates as well
Started the car , put the thumb drive into the usb slot and within 2 seconds a screen appeared asking me if I wanted to proceed.
It appears to be the same updates that MB uses. Hard to tell because they don't sell you a physical USB or disc.
Oh if you want the company will mail you a preloaded USB for an extra $20 . I would have gone that way except living in Canada I could see problems with extra charges or possible duties,
How did you download the files? I tried via Firefox, Edge and Chrome and get an error message with all stating the files are too large to download with the chosen Browser (22.5GB)? My impression is that, at 22.5GB, I'm attempting to download uncompressed files rather than compressed files.
The download is a zip file but after unzipping it appears that nothing was compressed only place in the one download file.

If you could compress a compressed file, where would it end?
If you compress a file using one algorithm, what happens if you then try a different algorithm on the output file?
Had a 64GB thumbdrive but it is 3.0. Waiting for a 2.0 as called for in their documentation. Not pleased that they provided a link to the uncompressed files. They clearly have a business arrangement with Mega and they try to force you to create an account with them. More on that once I have the thumbdrive and success or failure with the install.
Finally got it done. Wasn't fun but maybe that was down to my particular situation and the larger update. Had to end up using the Mercedes-Benz Command Manager instead of the MEGA storage nonsense they WANT you to use. They sent the M-B Command Manager link after I complained about the link to MEGA and having to create an account.
I really wish they would let you know if it's okay to use a battery tender on the car during the process instead of running the engine. Or, let you know it's a definite no-no, if that's the case, and why.
Install time was 1 hour and 13 minutes for 22+ GB. Version 8.0 > 20.0, in my case.
No surprises during install. All seems well. I went through the various Navi menus and can't say I see anything different but I haven't used it yet for actual navigation. My saved addresses, POIs and such are all still there.
For what it's worth, their technical support telephone number is a United Arab Emirates telephone number so, I assume, that's where they're based. I did not call it so no experience to share, regarding that.
