My GLK (Canada) has:
240 LED DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS

I am confused as to which lights should be on. I have attached a generic pic and numbered the bulbs.
Bulb 1 works for low and high beam
Bulb 2 never comes on
Bulb 3 works for signals and hazards as well as the park feature at far left of the switch
I have fog lights in the bumper but they never come on and I do not have a switch
I have a rear fog light switch which lights small red lights in the left rear tail light.
I have read the manual and cannot find this info. I am obviously missing something but am not sure what.
It turns out that the lights in the bumper are actually DRLs. They are on when the switch is in Auto but turn off when the switch is turned fully clockwise. I still don't know when light 2 is supposed to come on. Maybe it is part of the Active curvelight. but I am not sure.
Bulb #2 is supposed to turn on when you turn the steering wheel, to light up the corner you're about to turn into. It shouldn't take more than 1/2 turn of the steering in either direction to light up that side. I've noticed it turns on even sooner if you have the turn signal going as well.
You should try out both sides in a dark, open location. The bulbs are halogens which means they will burn out. I replaced them on my GLK250 probably 5 years ago, and since they don't get very much usage they should be OK.
Just a quick update on my original question. The inner bulb (#2) does indeed light when making turns. We took a video but it didn't really show anything. I went to a dark area and could see the extra light when a turn was made.
