Mini Spare?

I have a GLK 250 and am thinking about getting a EZ Spare wheel. Has anyone actually had to use one of these?

This is what I am looking at and for some reason they are not recommending the closest diameter fit to the stock.

Where are you going to store it?
Did you see the note below the part you posted?

These alternate size options are not available
with an EZ Spare wheel.

A wheel with the correct diameter, width,
offset and 5x112 mm bolt pattern would be
needed separately.

Modern Spare offers a 155/90R18 for the GLA/GLB that will fit the GLK. It’s +0.7” diameter, so closer than the 145/85R18 but not as close as the 155/85R18.

My plan is to use it on longer cross country trips. I am out west now and travel to the east coast about twice a year.

I am thinking about three options for my longer trips they are:
1. Depending on how things line up, either a false side or false bottom which would reduce the storage in the back, but make it livable. I give the false sides a low probability, so probably a false bottom that would be slightly higher than the current trunk storage lid with a foam cutout to hold the spare and whatever else I want to store in it. Yeah, it is going to create a slight lip if the back seats are down, but shouldn't be too bad.

2. A simple cutout that would go behind the drivers seat to hold it in place. I am pretty short, so there is room behind either front seat.
I just need something that fits in the back footwell so it won't move around. Again I would make it useful to allow storage of other stuff that goes along with the spare.

3. Throw it in the back or on the roof before a long trip and just live with it.. I assume that is what most people do..

GLK 250
I would say have a flat tire seal plug kit and a small air compressor in the trunk. Unless you have a blowout that shreds the tire, you can likely plug or seal any hole in a tire and use the compressor to refill the tire.

Anything beyond that (like a blowout) I would call AAA and let them deal with it. If you're really concerned about being stuck, I guess option #3...

I will say that in our 8 years of driving the GLK, which included through all the national parks to the west coast and back to the midwest where we live, I have never had to fix a flat. Taking off the run-flat tires on the car originally made a world of difference in comfort and handling, and I haven't looked back since.

I carry a slime repair kit (compressor and sealant), a cell phone, a AAA card and a plastic Jesus on the dash.

Since we're sharing our "options to a spare", here's mine ... plugs, reamer and installer, and a SuperFlow Mini compressor - hand in photo to show size. Everything fits in SuperFlow soft case. I've used it a time or two. 10-15 minutes to plug and fill.

I always carry a can of Fix A Flat in my cars, which reminds me there be an expiry date on the can.

Just after I got mine (new!) I was returning home via Yellowstone, from Cody, Wy. Rainstorm night before had deposit rocks on a curve that I was unable to avoid. Blowout of right front. Had runflats but one ruined. Managed to return to Cody but found no way to get new tire. Finally got myself to Salt Lake City where I had by telephone, found a tire replacement, and got home. Immediately purchased the Mercedes spare. I strapped it in the cargo compartment, driver's side with straps on the loops on the back of the rear seat and at the post of the cargo door. I have no room in the underfloor compartment because of the upgraded sound system. That spare has been riding back there, unnoticed, since that incident back in 2013.
