Can someone explain what a "becker" radio is on the GLK? And how do we tell if we have it or not? I assume I don't have it since I don't see any becker labeling. I do have the Navi and reverse camera if that makes a difference.

I can't answer your question directly, but I have a box in the glove box that is the optional Becker navigation "add on", so, maybe I also have a Becker radio?

It’s not a radio. Becker Map Pilot was an optional fully integrated 3rd party navigation option to the MB navigation package. If you have it, there will be a bracket for the plug in unit in the glove box.Originally Posted by yoda

There was also a “prewiring” option that did not include the bracket, was not enabled in the engineering menu, and just cost money.

I thought that was to allow the dealer to install the nav unit as a dealer installed option. The pre-wire kit is on my build sheet.Originally Posted by Odd Piggy

What the diff between the becker GPS and the MB GPS? I assume I have the MB version since I don't have the becker module in the glovebox.
BTW, the reason I asked is because I saw a module that plugs into the becker interface in the glovebox to get carplay. Was hoping I had a simple plug and play option.

If the docking port is not in the glovebox, then you have MB Nav. There are other ways to get Carplay. Do you have the MMI or Aux connections in the glovebox or center console?

It sounds like you have the MB navigation. You may or may not have the MMI connector. My ‘13 C Class had it in the console. My ‘15 GLK did not. If you have the MMI, plug in the phone with the adapter and hit the voice button on the steering wheel and you should be good to go. If you only have the aux, a bit more setting on the menu is required.Originally Posted by yoda
