EGR Maintenance Help

I am looking to have my local German garage service my EGR but am having trouble on what I should replace first. Does anyone happen to know which part of the EGR needs to be replaced? It seems like the EGR valve is what I’m leaning towards. If anyone could help with the following I would be incredibly greatful:

1.) Replace egr parts or remove, clean, and reattach?

2.) Which part is a good start to service the EGR and improve overall performance?

Thank you!!

"Does anyone happen to know which part of the EGR needs to be replaced?"

It's possible. Check with your local German garage.

"Which part is a good start to service the EGR and improve overall performance?"

Definitely the part that's limiting performance, if any.

Let us know the results!! Thanks!!!

Do you mean PVC system ? Yes MB leak when old , test vacuum or simply lift up on the oil cap when motor is running to see if it’s hard to pull up , testing vacuum is better . Mine was bad at 75000m

You're asking a number of crystal ball questions.

What makes you (or the German shop) think the EGR system is faulty? There would be error code(s) stored in the ECU and likely a check engine light if the system is acting up.

If indeed it is the EGR system at fault, any repairs would be covered under the AEM extended warranty and your authorized MB dealer (not the German shop) would be responsible for fixing it free of charge.

We need more information if we are to be of any help.

Andrei, that's not how the Internet works.

The correct method:

I post a vague, incomplete, and confused question.

You reply and tell me exactly which part I need to change.

If that doesn't happen, I complain that I'm still confused, but now it's YOUR fault.

Glad I could help clarify. ;-)

Same, but I'm trying to give the guy the benefit of the doubt.

Then he goes and asks about "tire programming"...

Somebody that has modified, aftermarket engine mapping/tuning on their GLK and refers to tire programming and indicates they are worried about the consequences of not buying rubber tires directly from Mercedes-Benz?

And who writes things like this:

"I’m seriously considering a DPF/SCR/EGR delete and am incredibly close to pulling the trigger, but I am unsure if this will resolve my issue."

I'm seriously considering... I'm INCREDIBLY close to pulling the trigger... I could go on. So yeah, jolly odd.

I guess the first thing you have to figure out is why you're wanting to service the EGR. Is there a particular problem you're trying to address?
