Rear bumper step replacement
Has anyone replaced it? There are a few notches that need to be pressed down.

I couldn't find the tutorial, so things went nuts, but the result is worth it.

The original is made of two parts, the aluminum top and black plastic bottom. Pulling them out together was impossible, we had to remove the aluminum first with some trial and error and then with lots of prying tools the plastic part gave in. The bumper received minor scratches which we touched up.

I’m replacing the same part on my glk. The aluminum top is already removed as it was easy being it was damaged. How much prying did you have to do to remove the plastic piece? Did you have to make a gap to do so? And was sliding the replacement in difficult?

The replacement snapped right in, but removing the original was a nightmare.
